Haizhi Wang is professor of finance at Illinois Institute of Technology’s Stuart School of Business. He has been a visiting scholar at the Center for Financial Analysis and Policy at the University of Cambridge (UK). Wang received the Founder’s Award of Excellence and the Del and Edith Karger Dissertation Prize in Management while earning his Ph.D. at Lally School of Management at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in 2008.

Wang’s research focuses on corporate finance, financial institutions, and entrepreneurial finance. He also works on interdisciplinary research projects linking finance to strategic management. His research has been published in academic journals such as the Journal of Banking and Finance, Journal of Empirical Finance, Strategic Management Journal, Small Business Economics, Financial Review, Journal of Business Research, Journal of Investing and Managerial Finance.

His research has been funded by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), the Kauffman Foundation, and Berkley Research Center of the Stern School of Business. His teaching interests are primarily in the areas of corporate finance, financial institutions, entrepreneurial finance, and statistical methods.
