The Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) Quantitative Finance program at Illinois Institute of Technology’s Stuart School of Business offers rigorous training in management and finance that distinctively prepares you for high-level managerial and consulting roles in a wide range of businesses and organizations.
The program’s tech-focused curriculum is designed to build your comprehensive business skills and expertise in strategic decision-making, analytics, leadership, and managing innovation. STEM-Designated Program
This is a STEM-designated program, and international graduates of the program are eligible to apply for an extension for Optional Practical Training, which allows selected students to stay and work in the United States for up to three years after graduation.
Program Overview
Stuart’s M.B.A. Quantitative Finance program combines a broad-based knowledge of management and operations, business decision-making, and leadership with quantitative skills and knowledge in finance. Our graduates are prepared to excel in key management and leadership roles, and advance their careers at businesses and organizations across all industries.

Graduates of this program are prepared for managerial careers in a broad range of companies and industries where their understanding of finance, financial instruments, and financial markets is an asset.
Financial managers are in high demand, with projected job growth of 16 percent from 2022–2032, according to the United States Bureau of Labor Statistics’ Occupational Outlook Handbook, and with median annual pay in 2022 of $139,790 for professionals in that occupation.
The Illinois Tech M.B.A. Quantitative Finance program encompasses key conceptual areas such as management, finance, strategy, operations, marketing, and leadership. The program also focuses on the development of quantitative finance knowledge and skills in financial modeling, asset pricing theory, the relationship between macroeconomic conditions and investment opportunities, and the price and risk management of derivative securities.
Course content and assignments are structured to connect theory with practice through case studies and group projects with businesses. Students must successfully complete 36 credits (12 courses) to earn the degree. All core courses are required; no electives. This program is typically completed in four semesters.

- Official transcript submission with a minimum cumulative undergraduate grade-point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
