The Master of Science in Management Science and Analytics is a rigorous program that prepares students to successfully analyze and solve complex business problems.

The program’s emphasis on quantitative methods, analytical tools, and computer models, with a choice of specializations in either quantitative finance or analytics, helps students master a data-intensive approach to management science attuned to the demands of the industry.

Through Illinois Tech’s one-of-a-kind Elevate program, you are guaranteed access to hands-on experiences throughout your graduate years, such as virtual and in-person internships, research projects, and more. You’ll also receive personalized mentorship to guide your academic studies and career planning.

STEM-Designated Program

This is a STEM-designated program, and international graduates of the program are eligible to apply for an extension for Optional Practical Training, which allows selected students to stay and work in the United States for up to three years after graduation.

The M.S. in Management Science and Analytics program, ranked #16 in the United States by TFE Times, teaches students to effectively use quantitative methods, analytical tools, and computer models to devise innovative solutions to complex problems in business, finance, and management.

The M.S. in Management Science and Analytics program’s curriculum includes core courses focused on mathematical economics, statistics, and modeling in management science, as well as courses in the student’s area of specialization (analytics or quantitative finance) and elective courses.

Note: Beginning in the fall 2024 semester, this program will require successful completion of at least 30 credit hours (10 courses).

  • Completed Online Application
  • Master of Science in Management Science and Analytics applicants must have completed an undergraduate degree
  • Official transcript submission with a minimum cumulative undergraduate grade-point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
  • No GMAT or GRE scores required
  • A one-page statement of purpose, with goals and objectives
  • English proficiency exam, if required

This program may be completed full-time in as few as three semesters, or you may enroll part-time. 

M.S. students may apply for the Stuart Ph.D. in Management Science and Analytics program during the course of their studies. If admitted, all credits already earned in the M.S. in Management Science and Analytics program may be applied toward the Ph.D. program.

Fall Semester Admission Only
Given the prescribed sequence of required courses, new students are only admitted to this program in the fall semester of each year.
